… It is important that the Library empowers students and
researchers to have the skills and understanding to find what
information they need, and to manipulate it, to meet their
research/learning needs. The days of library-mediated
searching are gone. The student/researcher is now at the
centre of the stage and the Library’s role is to equip them with
the tools (e.g. Primo), the skills and the level of understanding
to collect, manipulate text, videos, blogs, images, sound, film
etc. and to synthesise these into a coherent body of knowledge
which pushes forward the student’s knowledge or the limits of
research.
