Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Training :
6
•
Only training providers accredited by IWCF and/or IADC (or equivalent)
will be able to offer training based on these requirements.
•
The candidates must be trained and certified according to IAWC –
including particular focus on simulator specifications, simulator training
and certification.
•
A training provider shall have a Training Policy and Procedures Document
•
To comply with these requirements it is not sufficient to base training on
test-similar or test identical exercises

General Responsibility for Training Providers:
7
•
The training provider must establish and implement a training program so
that all candidates are trained to competently perform their assigned
well control duties.
•
The training provider must have a training plan that specifies the type,
method(s), length, frequency, and content of the training for the
candidates that complies with the syllabus and/or curriculum.
•
The training provider’s instructors and assessors must be certified
according to IWCF, IADC or equivalent instructor and assessor standard.

Deepwater Horizon follow-up
Primary Objective
•
Do what we can to prevent a major accident on the Norwegian continental shelf
Project Scope
•
Evaluate the need to develop new methods, standards and equipment:
- to prevent similar accidents
- to limit the impact of an underwater blow-out
Regular meetings
•
The project holds regular meetings with PSA and unions

Drilling Managers Forum’s fokus:
•
•
•
•
•
Opprettholde Well Incident Task Force
Vurdere WEC Task Group anbefalinger
Aktiv støtte til revision of D-001 and D-010
• Identifisere kunnskapshull.
• Identifisere hovedutfordringer.

Description
1 bbl kick while drilling Tor formation. Circ.
Out with drillers method. Max 267 psi on
choke. Increased MW from 10.2 to 10.9 psi.
Swabbing while running a plug. Circulated
out influx with drillers method. Not
necessary to weigh up mud (1,7 SG)
5 bbl kick while drilling reservoir. Circ out
water kick, 625 psi on choke. MW increased
from 11.0 to 11.8 ppg.
Flowchecked after coring. 340 l gain. Shut
in well on annular with 4,5 bar SIDPP. Killed
well using Wait & Weight method using
1,67 SG OBM. Weighted up to 1,70 SG
prior to POOH.
Took influx whilst drilling 17 ½” hole. Shut in
with with 50 psi SICP. Circulated out influx,
raised MW and re established well control.
Prevention: Influx attributed to zone feeding
in gas. Review specific overburden area
and re define problematic zone for future
avoidance.
Higher pore pressure than predicted,
increased MW from 9.0 to 10.0 ppg. Max
5psi on choke.
