This Photo-Mosaic is also considered to be Photographic Collage. It was created by David Hockney by taking many photographs and attaching them to create one whole image. Each of the photographs is of a small portion of the subject, attached they will create the entire subject. Take many photographs of subjects related to your larger image. In Photoshop edit your larger photo and create a grid over the image. Place your related photographs on top of the grid and merge those layers into one. Select areas of your larger image, switch to your merged layer and edit areas to match your larger image in color, contrast and opacity.
