Helplessly Hoping
Helplessly hoping
Her harlequin hovers nearby
Awaiting a word
Gasping at glimpses
Of gentle true spirit
He runs, wishing he could fly
Only to trip at the sound of good-bye
Wordlessly watching
He waits by the window
And wonders
At the empty place inside
Heartlessly helping himself to her bad dreams
He worries
Did he hear a good-bye? Or even hello?
They are one person

They are three together

I strode down by the sea shore;
The soft sensuous wind smothered my face.
The ravaging waves rushed to my feet;
The ocean’s oysters refused to open their mouth.
In the distance I detect a dolphin;
It jumped with joy then jetted away.
Boats bobbed on the beautiful sea;
Towels tainted the beach’s territory.
Chairs crowded the coast line;
People polluted the Pacific’s ocean.
But soon, the sun slid into a sunset,
Everyone retreated to the road and retrieved their cars
