1. A bike helmet must be worn at all times. If rider does not own a helmet, one can be checked out at the time of bike check out. 2. Rider assumes all risk while operating a Green Share bike. 3. Rider should look over the bike at time of checkout and bring to the immediate attention of checkout location staff member any maintenance and/or safety issue on the bike. Bike will be deemed inoperable if necessary. Failure to bring issue to attention of staff will result in rider being held liable for any damage to bike and/or equipment upon its return. 4. Rider must follow all traffic and safety laws for the State of Nebraska, County of Wayne, and City of Wayne regarding the use of the Green Share bike for the duration of the checkout. 5. Green Share bikes are for the transportation of the person who checks out the bike only. No passengers should be given rides. Unauthorized riders should not be granted use of the bike at any time without going through checkout process. 6. Green Share bikes should not be ridden after dark without proper safety measures being taken as the expense of the rider. A variety of lights and reflective clothing accessories can be purchased at any local bike shop or store that sells bikes. 7. Green Share bikes should be locked up at appropriate locations when not in use by rider. Rider assumes all liability due to theft of the Green Share bike. 8. Rider should operate the bike in a safe and appropriate manner, including the following: •Walking the bike in congested areas when operation would pose a risk to rider or others. •Yielding to pedestrians. •Using the bike only for its intended purpose.
