1. A bike helmet must be worn at all times. If rider does not own a helmet, one can
be checked out at the time of bike check out.
2. Rider assumes all risk while operating a Green Share bike.
3. Rider should look over the bike at time of checkout and bring to the immediate
attention of checkout location staff member any maintenance and/or safety issue
on the bike. Bike will be deemed inoperable if necessary. Failure to bring issue to
attention of staff will result in rider being held liable for any damage to bike and/or
equipment upon its return.
4. Rider must follow all traffic and safety laws for the State of Nebraska, County of
Wayne, and City of Wayne regarding the use of the Green Share bike for the
duration of the checkout.
5. Green Share bikes are for the transportation of the person who checks out the
bike only. No passengers should be given rides. Unauthorized riders should not
be granted use of the bike at any time without going through checkout process.
6. Green Share bikes should not be ridden after dark without proper safety
measures being taken as the expense of the rider. A variety of lights and reflective
clothing accessories can be purchased at any local bike shop or store that sells
bikes.
7. Green Share bikes should be locked up at appropriate locations when not in use
by rider. Rider assumes all liability due to theft of the Green Share bike.
8. Rider should operate the bike in a safe and appropriate manner, including the
following:
•Walking the bike in congested areas when operation would pose a risk to rider or
others.
•Yielding to pedestrians.
•Using the bike only for its intended purpose. No stunt riding or racing.
