Conventional Motor Technology
Magnets
Iron
0.5 lb force
Conventional rotors use iron
10 lb force
• Motors operate on alternating (push/pull) electromagnetic fields
• A magnet picks up fewer nails when iron is used as a transmission path
• The iron rotor in a conventional motor resists magnetic flux transmission

Magnetronic Motor Technology
Magnetronic Coil Windings
• Magnetronic coil windings
are less complex than
conventional coil windings
The simple Magnetronic Coil (Normally
encased in plastic)
Conventional Coil Windings
Conventional windings are extremely complex
• Simpler coils:

Easier to repair
Less likely to need repairs
Stronger magnetic fields

Magnetronic Motor Technology
Coils
Magnets
• The cool-running coils are
encapsulated in plastic
• Heavy iron is not used to
transmit the flux
• Each coil pushes against
4 magnets (2 per side)
• With 48 coils, the failure of
a coil reduces power by
only 1/48th of the total

This Magnetronic Motor has 5 stator/rotor sections. The Magnetronic
Motor design is very flexible and can be designed with any number of
stator/rotor sections. Each section can be designed with as few or as
many coils and magnets as are needed.

Magnetronic Motor Advantages
• Cooler operation  higher efficiency
(heat = waste)
• Smaller with higher power to weight ratios
• Modular design = highly fault tolerant
(Broken wires no longer mean weeks in the shop)
• Much lower starting power
(conventional motors dim the lights in the room during
startup)
