Central Meaning of Green
Through out the novel the color green stands for hopes and
dreams. This is proven by the three quotes that link the
color green to the green light at the end of Tom and Daisy’s
dock, the man that Gatsby was and had become, and how
early settlers felt when moving to the Americas. These are
all hopes and dreams that people wanted and tried to
obtain, some were successful and some were not.
Therefore the color green stands for a hopes and dreams

The character that is most symbolically linked to the color
green is Gatsby. As you read the book you come to connect

green light which represents his dream of reconnecting
with Daisy, the light is located at the end of Tom and
