Hermes Gives Odysseus help to take on Circe Gives Odysseus Moly: an herb that will prevent him from being turned into an animal like his men. Circe The Odyssey Book 10 -Odysseus is given the potion -It does not work, because of the moly -Circe falls to her knees and begs Odysseus for her life. -She offers to go to bed with him. -Odysseus refuses until she promises not to play anymore tricks. -Odysseus refuses to eat until she releases his men from her spell. -When she does release the men, they are taller, stronger, and more handsome. Circe Round two The Odyssey Book Ten - Eurylocus questions Odysseus’ leadership. -He even brings up the Cyclops and how it was Odysseus’ curiosity that got those men killed. -Odysseus threatens to kill Eurylocus -Odysseus’ men prevent the fight, and tell Odysseus to leave Eurylocus behind. -Odysseus is tricked by Circe to stay longer than he planned. -He and his men stay for a year before they notice how much time has passed. -Odysseus is awoken from the trance by his men -Begs Circe to let him leave the island to go home.
