Pau Gasol was born 1980.
Pau Gasol is playing basketball today for the Los Angeles Lakers.
He started his career though with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2002.
In 2002 with the Memphis Grizzlies he became the Rookie of the year.
He still holds the franchise records for field goals made and attempted, offensive
and defensive rebounds, blocked shots and points in his seven years with the
Memphis Grizzlies.
He was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009.
He has a brother who plays in the NBA too with the Memphis Grizzlies currently.

Pau Gasol has been an all-star four times. Three with the Lakers and one with
Memphis.
The last time he was an all-star was 2010-11.
He averaged 52.9% from the field and started in every single game in the regular
season that year.
He also had an average of 82% from the free-throw line and had a total of 863
rebounds throughout this year.
Throughout this year of him being an all-star his team won their last NBA Finals.

As I motioned in the biographical sketch Pau Gasol was the 2001 Rookie of the
Year with the Memphis Grizzlies.
In this year he started all but three games throughout the regular season. Most
rookies in their first year do not even start or play a lot of minutes.
He averaged 51.8% from the field and scored a total of 1441 points throughout the
year.
He also had the highest number of blocks in his whole career this season which
was 169 blocks.

I chose Pau Gasol because he plays basketball which is one of my favorite sports.
He plays the game of basketball the right way.
He doesn’t flop at all.
He only fouls because it is needed or accidental.
He has an incredibly cool temper which causes him to play the game right.
He is only one of so many big men in the NBA that can make a consistent jump
shot not close to the hoop.
The most important reason is he plays the games and has fun sometimes and
serious when it is needed.
