- 25% M.C. is good rule for deciding between Wet or Dry Corn - Drum set in the up position - Right side feederhouse sprocket – late model 60-70 series combines SMALL sprocket, early 60-50-10-00 LARGE sprocket - Feed Accumulator set to fast side for less damage (changed on the right side of the combine) - Chopper knife out - Right hand door lever set to the corn symbol, if it is not set to corn then damage to chaffer will occur - Dry Corn Combine Settings Concave Spacing: 16-20 Start 6-8 For small ears Chaffer: 15-20 Sieve: 10-13 Fan: 1000-1250 Rotor Speed: 320-350 - Wet Corn Combine Settings Concave Spacing: 16-20 6-8 For tough rubber cobs Chaffer: 15-20 Sieve: 10-13 Fan: 1000-1250 Rotor Speed: 320-350 25% M.C. is a good rule for determining “Wet Corn” - Starting the drum in the up position will give you less splits, if you experience poor feeding than put the drum in the down position. - Sprocket on the right hand side of the feederhouse should be set on the small sprocket for late model 60 series and 70 series combines. On older 60 series-50-10-00 set on the large sprocket. - Feed accumulator should be set on the fast side for less damage. If seed quality is a priority then slow can be used, but combine speed must be slower. - Chopper knives should be set at 1/2 in combine speed maybe slow if beans are dry - Right hand concave covers should be inserted - Combine Settings Concave Spacing: 8-16 can be lower Chaffer: 14-18 Sieve: 6-9 may go lower in small beans Fan: 850-1000 Rotor Speed: 350-400 - Tough beans will effect speed
