Problems Plaguing PDS
• Bogus Ration Cards
• Multiple ration cards of same family
• Existence of name of one person in more than one ration
card
• Bogus and duplicate names as well as ineligible, relatively
influential households push out most vulnerable and
vulnerable households due to ceiling
• Fabrication of sale record by FPS Licensee
• Denial of ration to cardholders on one pretext or the other
• Diversion of PDS items – connivance of FPS licensee,
transporter and field staff of the Department
