Fall 2012 • Finalize teacher (1-2) and guidance counselor recommendations. • Finalize list of colleges & their application deadlines (safety, possible and reach). • Continue work on application essays. Ask teachers to review drafts. • Prepare Early Decision (Binding)/Early Action (Non-Binding) applications and submit them for November deadlines. • Complete the CSS Profile Form (starting Oct. 1) if colleges require it for application or financial aid. November • November 1-15th: Early Decision/Action Deadlines. • Apply for a PIN. PIN is used as electronic signature for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) http://www.pin.ed.gov. • Complete Transcript Release Form (TRF) and return to Guidance Counselor at least two weeks prior to date you want application sent. • Provide manila/standard white envelopes to Guidance Counselor with printed addresses of colleges and appropriate postage (3-4 stamps).
