Fundamentals of Lifespan Development OCTOBER 22, 2014 – PREPARATION FOR THE GROUP PROJECT Revised Course Schedule October 22nd – Preparation for Group Projects October 24th – Chapter 11: Physical and Cognitive Development in Adolescence October 29th – Chapter 12: Emotional and Social Development in Adolescence Group Assignment Preliminary Assessment Due October 31st –Group Project Feedback November 5th – Chapter 13: Physical and Cognitive Development in Early Adulthood November 7th – Group Project Discussion November 12th – Chapter 14: Emotional and Social Development in Early Adulthood November 14th – Class Presentations November 19th – Class Presentations November 21st – Class Presentations November 26th – Class Presentations November 28th – Review for Final Exam Final Exam 70% of the exam will cover chapter 11-14. 15% of the exam will be focused on the material before the midterm 15% of the exam will be focused on chapter 15-19 You MUST attend the presentations – These courses weigh heavily on your participation grade. Group Project You will be working with a group of about 5 people. Your group is responsible to submit: 1 – An outline of your final paper (can be point form). DUE OCTOBER 29th 2 – Study notes for the class about your topic (can be a PowerPoint). DUE AT YOUR PRESENTATIONS 3 – A final paper (about 10 pages). DUE NOVEMBER 28th 4 – All group meeting notes. DUE NOVEMBER 28th Therefore you must: 1 – Meet with your group regularly. 2 – Come to class when we have group planning sessions. 3 – Come to the group presentation days. 4 – Take detailed minutes of the meetings. Please including: - who is present at the meeting - what is discussed - all decisions taken by the group Topics The groups will chose topics from one of the following chapters. Chapter 15: Physical and Cognitive Development in Middle Adulthood Chapter 16: Emotional and Social Development in Middle Adulthood Chapter 17: Physical and Cognitive Development in Late Adulthood Chapter 18: Emotional and Social Development in Late Adulthood Chapter 19: Death, Dying and Bereavement Groups may also work with Co-op Collective Vision by partaking in a stage. This is by special request only.
