• “I can’t tell you enough good stories about the fabulous job
your Deans and students did last night at our high school
transition program. The Deans did a great job of organizing a
representative group of students to promote the practices at

your schools and answer the questions of our eighth grade

students and their parents..….The students were
informative, realistic, funny, etc. I can’t say enough positive
things about last night’s program. Thanks for sharing your
staff and students with us.“

Coach Cardenas and Mrs. Staley,
•
I just had 5 of your senior girls visit the studio for their banner portraits. We
took several shots of each girl and I let each choose the one she liked best.
•
The entire time each girl was super polite and thanked me many times.
•
The reason I am writing this to you is because I want to remind you that as a
business owner that deals with many schools in our area……………Clear Brook
never disappoints. I have had baseball seniors here, not to mention the
majority of seniors for yearbook photos and I continue to tell anyone who
will listen how well-behaved and appreciative your students are.
•
Before they left I made sure to tell them thank you for their maturity and
manners. I also shared a quick story with them about another school visiting
last week. 25 girls all at once from one team and while I was photographing
some the others were all over the studio taking cell phone pictures on my
backgrounds and pulling props off the wall to take their own photos
with. There seemed to be no sense of respect for someone else's
belongings or hard work.
•
So I just wanted to say thank you for holding your kids accountable at
Brook. Please give those girls a pat on the back. They were a pleasure to
work with and I enjoyed the opportunity to photograph them.
•
Sincerely,
ANOTHER LETTER

A LITTLE PROM INTRODUCTION

PROM INFO: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
PlannIng will be the difference between a night to remember or a nightmare to forget. Sensible decisions can
mean the difference between going broke or enjoying an elegant evening.
• Groups and/or dates – Some of you have had a prom date since last October. Others have just as much fun
attending in groups or singles. All are welcome.
•
Dinner – An option; not a requirement. Some seniors want to enjoy a fancy dinner before the prom. If you do,
there is no need to blow the bank account on a seven-course meal. The prom hotel contract includes plenty of
food so you can find plenty to eat at the prom, or you can eat lightly at the restaurant and fill up at the prom.
Some groups even have elegant dinners in one of their homes.
• Dinner reservations – Make them for an EARLY time. The latest you can check in for Prom in Galveston is 10
p.m. You need to factor in travel and parking time.
• Restaurant difficulties – Avoid dinner groups larger than 6 people. You will get slow service and an automatic
20 – 25% gratuity on your bill.
PROM INFO CONTINUED
• Transportation – Use free parking for your car. If you choose a limo or small bus, be sure to select a
reputable company and always have an after hours emergency number for that company.
• Maps – Be sure to have maps/phone numbers for all your destinations. Limo drivers are notorious for
getting lost.
•
Guests/dates – All are subject to CCISD rules (as are you). No one currently expelled or assigned to any
AEP may attend. If you have a concern, see Mrs. Gault privately.
•
Hair, tans, nails, makeup – All optional (save $ by finding a friend to do it for you). If you go for the star
treatment, make the appointments NOW for early in the day. Don’t make your group wait on you and
miss the reservation time.
• Confirm – All appointments, reservations, and rentals 7 to 10 days ahead. If you have a group, give
everyone a printed schedule as soon as possible.
• Flowers – Pretty in the pictures, but optional if you need to save money. Real or silk, shop the florists
for the best deals, and order early.
•
PROM INFO CONTINUED
After Prom – Many groups enjoy meeting at one home for the rest of the night to enjoy movies, music,
swimming, games, and breakfast. Recruit parents early so they can plan for you and your friends. If you
want a beach house, hotel, cabin or other option, you still need chaperones. Also, many rental properties
have specific bans on “prom party weekends” that would forfeit your money.
FINES/FEES
• All fines and fees must be cleared in order to purchase a prom ticket. Students should begin checking
with their alpha secretaries to see whether they have any fines/fees that are owed. The official list of
fines/fees will be available on or before Monday, March 2.
• On March 30, seniors who are cleared for prom will receive a “clear slip” from their alpha secretary.
Seniors will have to present this ticket at the time of prom ticket purchase.
