Viewing from multiple angles allows viewer to better see how the event unfolded, or put together missing links which may be critical to their case. It is recommended that the GPS is set to sync time automatically. A delay can be add to playback so all steams can be synced. Under Utilized Features Partial Export Video − The Partial Video Export Interface allows users to choose to either fully export a video or partially export a video. − The exported video can be encoded into WMV format or AVI (MPEG4 only) format by selecting the option MPEG (default), WMV or AVI. Video Export Partial Video Export − Partial Export Video is a part of the Coban DVMS Application Group, which contains several programs providing cutting-edge solutions for digital video surveillance applications. − COBAN DVMS addresses the issues surrounding the capture, transfer, storage, and management of digital videos. − As part of COBAN DVMS, PartialExportVideo provides additional features and functions to the set of original export functions of BOClient. For example, it can export portions of a video, encode a video into WMV format (Windows Media Video format, which can be played on any Windows based computer with Media Player 9 or higher), and AVI (MPEG4 only) format. − When encoding into WMV format, markers are added into the encoded video, which includes all event logs, which also allows the viewer to click on any individual marker and have the video jump to that specific segment of the video. − When a user exports a video, BOClient will also export COBANPlay for the user to playback the exported video and logs. − Although the exported mpeg format video can be played back using any player (such as Microsoft’s Media Player or Real Network’s Real Player), the logs associated with the video will not be available. − With COBANPlay, when a video is played back, all the logs will be displayed with the video. Video Export Fully Export a Video − Select the option MPEG (default), WMV or AVI and click “Full Export” button. It will export the video (transcoded if selecting a format other than MPEG) into specified folder. Partially Export a Video − Select the start point of a video by clicking on the button followed by selecting the end point of a video by clicking on the button (default start point is 0 and default end point is the duration of the video). Then select the option MPEG (default), WMV or AVI. And click “Partial Export” button. It will export the portion of the video from the start point to the end point (transcoded if selecting a format other than MPEG) into specified folder. Selection of start point and end point can be cancelled by clicking on the button. Under Utilized Features Hold Request Hold request videos are in boldface Under Utilized Features What is the Hold Request Hold Request is one of the video retention policies. The Hold Request function allows the authorized user to hold selected videos for a specified number of days. When it is specified, the on-hold video will not be deleted if it is the last copy. Hold requests are only allowed to be placed on the videos of the connected server. Videos retired from Coban system cannot be held/release held. Releasing the hold on the video. – Uncheck the contacts who no longer wants to hold, – When all contacts on the Hold Request window are uncheck, the hold is released. Emails due to be sent: emails will be sent to the hold requested users when videos are about to expire: – 1st email will be sent a day before expiration. – The subsequent emails will be sent 30 days after the last sent date. – All emails are sent to on hold users – On and after the 3rd email, also an email will be sent to administrators (From Address in the Email Notification window). Active Case Management allows the administrators the ability to define and manage access rights on viewing a video through case numbers. It defines policies that extend or overwrite the traditional access rights such as video’s ownership right, and “View all other videos” right: Under Utilized Features Active Case Management continued… Extend the traditional access rights by including additional users/groups to the case will grant these users/groups the ability to view the video. . Overwrite the traditional access rights by limiting the users/groups to the case will only allow these users/groups to view the videos of the case regardless of other viewing rights, such as video’s ownership right or “View all other videos” right. When groups are included with the case, all users in the groups or parent groups are granted the access. It also provides the ability to overwrite the video retention set by the department policies: when the case is active, the videos of the case will not be deleted from primary raid.
