Play Multiple Videos
Each video plays in sync to its recorded time, enabling viewer to see the videos from different
angles and aspects with respect to when the video was recorded.
Viewing from multiple angles allows viewer to better see how the event unfolded, or put
together missing links which may be critical to their case. It is recommended that the GPS is set
to sync time automatically. A delay can be add to playback so all steams can be synced.

Partial Export Video
− The Partial Video Export Interface allows users to choose to either fully
export a video or partially export a video.
− The exported video can be encoded into WMV format or AVI (MPEG4
only) format by selecting the option MPEG (default), WMV or AVI.
Video Export
Partial Video Export
−
Partial Export Video is a part of the Coban DVMS Application Group, which contains several programs providing
cutting-edge solutions for digital video surveillance applications.
−
COBAN DVMS addresses the issues surrounding the capture, transfer, storage, and management of digital videos.
−
As part of COBAN DVMS, PartialExportVideo provides additional features and functions to the set of original
export functions of BOClient. For example, it can export portions of a video, encode a video into WMV format
(Windows Media Video format, which can be played on any Windows based computer with Media Player 9 or
higher), and AVI (MPEG4 only) format.
−
When encoding into WMV format, markers are added into the encoded video, which includes all event logs,
which also allows the viewer to click on any individual marker and have the video jump to that specific segment
of the video.
−
When a user exports a video, BOClient will also export COBANPlay for the user to playback the exported video
and logs.
−
Although the exported mpeg format video can be played back using any player (such as Microsoft’s Media Player
or Real Network’s Real Player), the logs associated with the video will not be available.
−
With COBANPlay, when a video is played back, all the logs will be displayed with the video.
Video Export
Fully Export a Video
− Select the option MPEG (default), WMV or AVI and click “Full Export” button. It will export
the video (transcoded if selecting a format other than MPEG) into specified folder.
Partially Export a Video
− Select the start point of a video by clicking on the
button followed by selecting the end point of a video by clicking on the
button
(default start point is 0 and default end point is the duration of the video). Then
select the option MPEG (default), WMV or AVI. And click “Partial Export” button.
It will export the portion of the video from the start point to the end point
(transcoded if selecting a format other than MPEG) into specified folder.
Selection of start point and end point can be cancelled by clicking on the
button.

Under Utilized Features
What is the Hold Request
 Hold Request is one of the video retention policies. The Hold Request function allows the
authorized user to hold selected videos for a specified number of days. When it is specified,
the on-hold video will not be deleted if it is the last copy. Hold requests are only allowed to
be placed on the videos of the connected server. Videos retired from Coban system cannot
be held/release held.
 Releasing the hold on the video.
– Uncheck the contacts who no longer wants to hold,
– When all contacts on the Hold Request window are uncheck, the hold is released.
 Emails due to be sent: emails will be sent to the hold requested users when videos are
about to expire:
– 1st email will be sent a day before expiration.
– The subsequent emails will be sent 30 days after the last sent date.
– All emails are sent to on hold users
– On and after the 3rd email, also an email will be sent to administrators (From Address in
the Email Notification window).

Active Case Management
What is Active Case Management?
Active Case Management allows the
administrators the ability to define and
manage access rights on viewing a video
through case numbers. It defines
policies that extend or overwrite the
traditional access rights such as video’s
ownership right, and “View all other videos”
right:

Active Case Management continued…
 Extend the traditional access rights by including additional users/groups to the
case will grant these users/groups the ability to view the video. .
 Overwrite the traditional access rights by limiting the users/groups to the case will
only allow these users/groups to view the videos of the case regardless of other
viewing rights, such as video’s ownership right or “View all other videos” right.
When groups are included with the case, all users in the groups or parent
groups are granted the access.
It also provides the ability to overwrite the video retention set by the department
policies: when the case is active, the videos of the case will not be deleted from
primary raid.
