This presentation takes you forty thousand years into the past when the era of modern humans began. You will learn what we ate at the beginning of our existence and other interesting information, too.
The human species of Homo Sapiens,
Sapiens appeared about forty thousand years ago when the ice age ended. They migrated all over the world. (1)
Food
They ate the following:
1)Deer, fish, pig, cow, goat, and sheep.
2)Berries, nuts, grains, plants, and some roots
3)The way they got food was they domesticated animals and they planted plants. (2)
Fire
• They weren’t the first to use fire, but they were the first to use it wisely.
• How they made fire was they rubbed rocks together, and by rubbing wood together (but they needed tinder, such as grass, etc.). (3)
Homo Sapien, Sapiens used these tools:
• Spears, bows, and arrows.
• Traps for larger animals, and they tamed wolves for hunting.
• Fish traps, and dams to catch fish.
• Axes, boats, and pigment for paint
• Stones for making fire and paint. (4)
They worshiped daily at a shrine or other special places. In the beginning of the modern human era, they didn’t worship gods, but they worshiped symbols (animals, fictional characters, etc.). (5)
• They communicated with different languages; some are used today; some are not.
• As far as we know, Homo Sapiens, Sapiens did have written language. (6)
• Clothing was made of hide and fur from hunted animals.
• Men, typically, just wore shorts.
• Women usually wore short dresses made of skins. (7)
• They were the first known humans to make pots.
• They painted bison, horses, dogs, and people.
• They put water on a small rock and rubbed it on a big rock to make paint. (8)
• They are the closest looking humans to us in the 21 st century. (9)
• Both genders were about 4-5.5 feet tall.
• Male Homo Sapiens, Sapiens weighed 168 to 183 pounds.
• Female Homo Sapiens, Sapiens weighed 120 to 140 pounds. (10)
• They were mainly farmers with the start of raising plants and animals.
• They got a surplus of food so they didn’t have to be hunter-gatherers anymore. (11)
• Shelter was usually set up by a cave.
• Caves provided shelter in bad weather.
• There were about seven huts in a camp.
• Each hut had a family with 2-4 children.
• The huts were circular and roomy.
• Large, flat mammoth bones made the floor.
• Other large mammal bones helped support the hut. (12)
Homo Sapien, Sapiens were the link between farmers and hunter-gatherers.
They are the first humans to have a known language.
Homo Sapiens, Sapiens are the smartest species of humans.
