Does Kobo have Book Lending like Kindle?
Kindle do offer Book Lending but there are some important limitations to be aware of.
(1) Book Lending is only available to customers in the US.
(2) Only a smaller sub-set of commercial books are eligible for Book Lending.
As a result, rather than Book Lending at Kobo we have focused on supporting open standards and
were the first to enable library lending.
Does Kobo have an Owners Library like Kindle?
Kobo does not have an Owners lending library like Kindle, but Kindle’s Owners Library is only in
the US only. Kobo offers special deals in the US and other markets on a regular basis.
Can I email documents to my Kobo Glo?
Not as of yet. However, we’re considering adding email to the great list of tools you can use on
Kobo Glo. For now, consider sharing to Twitter or to your Facebook Timeline.

We suggest you compare for yourself!
Unlike Kindle Whitepaper which uses a glass layer on top of its light guide increasing glare, Kobo
Glo uses a micro-thin durable coating that not only evenly diffuses the light but avoids issues of
glare common to glass. Also, be careful, early industry reviews reveal some distracting light ‘hot
spots’ on the Kindle Paperwhite.

Kindle uses capacitive Touch. I’m not familiar with infrared (IR).

Both technologies are widely available and trusted. Kobo eReaders use IR for a couple reasons:
1. Responsive: So much so, you can navigate even with a gloved hand, a stylus or pen.
2. Durability & Optic Clarity: Screen patterning is not required ensuring the integrity of the
protective outer screen layer and providing enhanced optical clarity.



Kindle Paperwhite claims 62% more pixels and 25% sharpness and darker
contrast.
Kobo can too! Kobo Glo and Kindle Paperwhite are equally matched offering an unprecedented
high resolution screen for eReaders with 212 ppi. In addition, both have worked extensively with
typography experts to offer dramatic improvements in text and image sharpness and contrast.
That said, Kobo has gone a step beyond offering the most extensive array of text customization
options. More fonts. More font size. Plus, exclusive adjustable sharpness and weight settings.

Yes! Kobo has worked with typography experts to design its own Kobo font and optimize its full selection of
fonts. Putting more ink on the page, Kobo offers the sharpest, most readable text.

sharpness and weighting settings.

Does Kobo Mini offer Whispersync? The ability to move between text and
audiobooks?
Kobo Everywhere is just like Kindle Whispersync. Your library is secure in the cloud and with free Kobo apps for
smartphones, tablets and computers you can read across your devices picking up right where you left off.
That said, we do not offer eBook and Audio book sync today. Given that you need to buy the eBook and Audio
book, seems a bit cost prohibitive so we haven’t built this out yet.

2. Which languages does Kobo Glo support?
The Kobo Glo is truly international eReader. At first launch, the Kobo Glo will be
available in English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, and Portuguese. Plus,
we’re going to be launching more language support shortly, so stay tuned!
3. What about daytime reading?

Luckily, the Kobo Glo is perfect for reading both day and night! You control the
ComfortLight: turn it on and off with a simple tap, and adjust the intensity to suit your
reading conditions. Because there’s no glass on the screen, you never suffer from glare,
no matter how bright the sun is shining. And because the E Ink screen reads like printon-paper, the brighter the ambient light the better.

4. How is a front light different than a backlight?

Kobo Glo’s advanced breakthrough ComfortLight technology cleverly diffuses light
across the page, rather than illuminating it from behind. Screens that use backlighting
often cause eyestrain, mostly because they require glass screens that reflect light and
suffer from glare. The print-on-paper feel of the Kobo Glo’s E Ink, non-glare, no-glass
screen, under the illumination of a front light, has none of these downfalls so you have
the best reading experience, no matter what time of day.

makes it better?


Out of the box, the Kobo Glo comes with the storage capacity for up to 1,000 eBooks.
Not enough for you? No problem! You can easily expand its memory with a 32 GB
MicroSD card, giving you storage for up to 30,000 books. If you run out of space, simply
delete the eBooks off your SD card. Don’t worry, though! Thanks to Kobo Everywhere,
your eBooks are stored safely in the cloud, so you can add them back later if you want!
8. Are there any accessories that can help protect my Kobo Glo?

There sure are! Not only does our range of accessories protect your Kobo Glo, but

10. Can’t tablets do more? Why should I choose the Kobo Glo over a tablet?

Well, it all depends on what you’re looking for. Are you a reader with passion? Do you
love the look of print on paper but want a digital solution to your mounting pile of
books? Then the Kobo Glo is for you. You see, the Kobo Glo was made for reading. Its E
Ink screen gives you that print-on-paper experience, but, unlike a tablet, the screen
isn’t made from glass so you’re never victim to glare. You can read wherever you
want, even in bright sunlight or at night with ComfortLight (and since the Kobo Glo
doesn’t use backlighting, like tablets do, you’ll never strain your eyes). Plus, Kobo
Glo`s battery lasts longer than most tablets, and with customizable fonts, including an
exclusive Kobo font, you read the way you want to read.
11. When will Kobo Pulse come to Kobo Glo? Is it going to be available on Kobo Touch?

Unfortunately, we’re not currently planning to support Kobo Pulse on either the Kobo
Glo or on Kobo Touch. But don’t worry, you can enjoy great social features on your
Kobo Glo, like earning and sharing your Reading Life awards and stats, and sharing your
favourite passages to your Facebook Timeline and Twitter.
