A Gurudwara was constructed
by Maharaja Ranjit Singh ji at
the site where Guru Gobind
Singh ji breathed his last.
It took 5 years to complete (18321837) and is adorned with marble
and gold. It is revered as
"Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchal
Nagar Sahib".

conferring Guruship on Shri
Guru Granth Sahib Jee,
through a hukamnama had
named Nanded region as
Abchalnagar (steadfast city).
The word Sachkhand (region of
Truth) was used to mean the
abode of God.

Bahadur
Sadhu Madho Dass was baptized to
Sikhism by Guru Gobind Singh ji and
was given a new name – Banda Singh
Bahadur. It was this great hero who
in the next seven years (1709-1715)
gave a sharp turn to the history of
Sikhs by shaking the foundation of
Mughal Empire in the North-west
and paved the way for the liberation
of the Punjab in 1764-65

and Bhai Dharam
Singh Jee
Bhai Daya Singh and Dharam Singh,
two of the Panj Piare (Five beloved
Ones) who had offered their heads
at the Guru’s call when the Khalsa
was created in Kesgarh Fort of
Anandpur Sahib on the Baisakhi
Day of 1699, and had survived the
battle of Chamkaur, subsequently
died here.

On further questioning by Sant Baba Nand
Singh Ji the udasi sadhu said, ‘Young lion of
Guru Ji, you seem to have a discerning
intellect. You are asking me questions that
are beyond my comprehension. If you
want answers to all your questions then
you should go to Sachkhand Sri Hazoor
Sahib Ji where the spiritual power of the
tenth master, Satguru Sri Guru Gobind
Singh Ji Maharaj the king of kings and the
saint of saints resides’.
These words of the sadhu got engraved on
Sant Ji’s heart.
Eternal Guruship.....
In 1708 AD at Sri Hazoor Sahib, Nanded with 5 Singhs in the
Hazoori (Presence) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee, Sri Guru Gobind
Singh Jee uttered the following in front of all those presence as a
command:
“With the blessing of God the Khalsa Panth was created, all Sikhs
have a commandment to believe in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee,
which is the living embodiment of the 10 Guru’s.
Whatever you desire can be obtained by
meditating on the Shabad (Verses) of Sri
Guru Granth Sahib Jee.”

As was ordained by the Timeless, thus was established the Panth.

One Singh is to go ahead of
Satguru and sprinkle water or
wet flower petals.
The Main Singh carrying the
Guru must put a clean Rumalla

Guru on this Rumalla. At all
times, the Guru should be
covered with a small Rumalla
so that the Guru's Sarop is
always fully "covered".
Also the Sikh carrying Guru
Granth Sahib should have
"Keshi Ishnaan" or washed hair
to show respect.
There should be recitation of
"Waheguru" at all times.
No one sits on a higher
platform than the Guru.
No one is to come in front of
guruji without his or her head

religions, but I do not find elsewhere the same
power of appeal to the heart and mind as I find here
in these volumes. They are compact in spite of their
length, and are a revelation of the vast reach of the

something strangely modern about these scriptures
