University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) Intensive English Program (IEP) Health Requirements Pre-Enrollment Health Requirement UNL Health Requirements • All international students must have: – a Quantiferon lab test for tuberculosis at UHC • Quantiferon lab test replaces the PPD test – records that show two measles (MMR) shots Meeting the Requirements - Quantiferon Quantiferon test for tuberculosis • Quantiferon – TB Gold test brochure • One appointment with a nurse • Will draw blood at this visit • Requirement met if the Quantiferon test is negative Quantiferon-TB Gold Test (Tuberculosis) Positive Quantiferon Test • Positive or indeterminate test • Letter is sent to you – Schedule a visit – Physician visit and chest X-ray are required Meeting the Requirement –Measles (MMR) • Copy of your vaccine (shot) records from your home country or USA showing two measles shots (MMRs) OR • “Positive Measles Blood Titer” report from a laboratory or doctor Measles shots (MMRs) can be given at UHC if needed MMR Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) Complete the Requirements • Complete the requirements in two weeks – Keep your apppointment – Avoid holds on future registration Medical Insurance • Required for all IEP students • Automatic enrollment for F1 and J1 • Waive the insurance plan if you can show documentation of a comparable plan – Internet plans are not accepted • Sign up for student insurance at: http://health.unl.edu/insurance/ Healthy Option - Student Medical Insurance Plan • Covered UHC services paid at 100% – Includes most laboratory; physical therapy; radiology; specialty; counseling and psychological services; and annual exam expenses – Covers Quantiferon test and MMR titer test • Two cleanings for your teeth at the UHC Dental Office • UHC Pharmacy for drugs and medications Health Option Student Insurance Appointments • Schedule your appointments today – Call 472-5000 to cancel or reschedule Bring to Your Appointment • NCard • Insurance Card • Immunization/Vaccine Records – school or doctor records • Completed Medical History Form NU Identification Number Medical History Form • Complete this form • Bring it to your appointment Costs Payment is required at the time of service.
