Jonah the Groaner
Jonah was a groaner
And he had a job to do
God sent him off to Nineveh
But what did Jonah Do?
He simply groaned, groaned, groaned

He bought himself a ticket
That would take him right away
But the sailors threw him overboard
And what did Jonah say?

I’m sinking, I’m drowning
He groaned and he complained
A fish came by and swallowed him
And then he changed his mind
He had to pray, pray, pray
He simply had to
Pray
The fish took Jo to Ninevah
Then spat him on the sand
He warned the folk to change their ways
And this was God’s command
They had to change, change, change
You know they had to
Change
God saved the sinful Ninevites
But Jonah huffed and puffed
He still remembered all their wrongs
Instead of feeling chuffed
He simply groaned, groaned, groaned
