Montessori Method with Adults: Video interview with expert Interview questions: (6) Although adult education is different from that of child education, in your view, how can the Montessori Method be used to develop the social and emotional skills of adults within the framework of tasks training/education? Answer: Montessori Method contains knowledge of children’s psychology in different age groups. On my opinion, although Montessori Method in not has been used for adults yet, if we take in account the age of individual, his needs, it is possible to use this method due to it’s slenderness. (7). It is accepted that Montessori Method helps “the child” construct “the adult” while “the adult” is adding to an already-existing completed personality, however, how could the Montessori Method be adapted within the framework of vocational training/education to activate the creative side of adults? Answer: Not only the children have to grow and develop - adults too. Montessori Method could be used to individualise the vocational education, to give a free choice in learning process, in programmes and forms, in occupations which are more attractive for adult student. (8). How could the Montessori Method be adapted to create tasks training/practical learning approaches for adults to gain practical skills within a” space of learning”? Answer: People usually choose profession according to their hobby or proclivity. Creating the tasks we have in mind target group which is purposefully determined to learn a profession. Joining the process student has an image of profession or, may be, some social skills for this job. The tasks have to promote development of social and professional skills, to encourage self-confidence. (9). Can you talk about some of the vocational training/educational initiatives using the Montessori Method for adults in order to reintegrate them into the labour market? Answer: If the student has strong motivation for changing the profession or the way of life in common, Montessori Method can make the process attractive and interesting (10). Is there anything else you would like to say about the application of Montessori Method Approach to adults? Answer: Montessori Method is actually a philosophy. Method encourages individual to develop harmoniously, not only improve social and professional skills, but to be self-confident, spiritually strong. It makes your life easier. Spiritually strong person creates beautiful world. Maria Montessori aimed to grow up kind and good personalities. Using Montessori method with children we notice that they have better mutual relations, understanding and respect. These skills are actual today. Montessori philosophy can be helpful for adults too.
