This is equivalent to 50 billion ton of crude oil, more than Iran & Saudi Arabia’s combined oil reserves. Phased development can lead to 400 – 600 mt /year coal mining in 20 years 5 MISL Confidential Coal Quality The coal beds of variable thickness ranging from 0.20 – 22.81 meters are developed. The maximum number of coal seams found in some of the drill holes is 20. The cumulative thickness of the coal beds range from 0.2 to 36 meters. Claystone invariably forms the roof and the floor rock of the coal beds. The coal is brownish black, black and grayish black in colour. It is poorly to well cleared and compact. The quality of coal is better where percentage of clay is nominal. 6 MISL Confidential Project Scope Mine & Power plant to be developed in parallel : The production capacity of Coal mine will be 22.5 Mt/a to support 4000 MW of power generation capacity for 70 years Phase 1 will be development of a 6.5 Mt/a Coal mine in parallel with 1200 MW Power Plant In subsequent phases, chemical and fertilizer plants would be set-up as part of a Mega Petro-Chemical Complex which would be supported by additional coal mining 7 MISL Confidential Project Scope (continued) Power transmission line of 500 KV will be planned and constructed for 1000 mw power dispersal to power grid network. Coal Gasification System with a 36”-42” Hi- Pressure Gas Transmission Pipeline will be planned and constructed to connect to the SSGC Network at Hyderabad / Jamshoro. 8 MISL Confidential Project Timeline Detailed Feasibility Study completed by September 2010 Financial Close is expected by December 2012 Coal Mining and Power Generation Project will start operation by December 2016 9 MISL Confidential
