SELF-RESPECT
What is it?
The knowledge of one's own worth, valuing one's self;
pride
It embraces more than just what your parents and
teachers expect of you
Where we have respect, we avoid degrading,
insulting or injuring, and we treat every one and every
thing with consideration
SELF-RESPECT
• show respect for views with which you disagree
and speak in a non-threatening way
• To create open, trusting relationships with fellowmembers of the community
• Respect invites respect… Disrespect invites

• Mutual respect allows a person to respect others
and to practise self-respect
