The UN and Cambodia in the 1970’s:
• Between 1975 and 1979, UN programmes in
Cambodia were suspended
 Early relief assistance began in 1979 (UNICEF
and the ICRC coordinated the response)
 UNDP, UNHCR, WFP, UNESCO and WHO
contributed to these emergency relief
operations
