What is the Trademark Administrators and
Practitioners Meeting (TMAP)?
TMAP…
• Offers an intensive educational program for trademark
administrators and practitioners of different experience levels.
• Facilitates networking between trademark administrators
and practitioners.
• Provides opportunities for engagement with government
officials from various trademark offices and customs
TMAP in 2014 and 2015
• Over 417 registrants from 51 countries attended the 2014
TMAP meeting in Arlington, Virginia.
– Among them were representatives from 140
corporations, 190 law firms, OHIM, the USPTO
and WIPO.
• The 2015 TMAP meeting will take place at the OHIM
headquarters in Alicante, Spain from October 13–15.
– It will be INTA’s first TMAP meeting in Europe.
Why Alicante in 2015?
• Alicante is home to the Office
for Harmonization in the
Internal Market (OHIM).
• OHIM is responsible for
managing the Community
trade mark and the registered
Community design.
• In 2015, the EU will conclude a major, multiyear project to revise
its trademark laws when the new Community Trade Mark regulation
enters into force.
• This is the most significant change to EU trademark law in 20 years.
Why Alicante in 2015?
• Registrants will hear firsthand from OHIM officials about
how the newly amended regulation will be implemented.
• This unique opportunity makes the TMAP 2015 a mustattend event for anyone whose work involves Europe.
• The Meeting will also feature
