Our Citations on Last Visit
• ED-5-A: Active learning:
– “opportunities for students to develop skills of self
directed, independent learning during the first
two years of the curriculum are relatively sparse,
with limited occasions for students to interact
with faculty individually or in small group settings
Our Citations on Last Visit
• ED 33: central curriculum management
– “on those occasions when the dean’s office has
made or implemented policies that directly affect
the curriculum, there has been no apparent input
from the curriculum committee in the decision
making nor follow-up to determine the ongoing
need for such policies. Directors of third year
clerkships do not have the same structural role
with respect to the curriculum committee as do
course directors in the 1st and 2nd year”

• MS 37: Adequate study and relaxation space
– “Student feedback indicates that there is
insufficient study and relaxation space to facilitate
their preparations for the academic demands of
the curriculum”

• ER 9: Affiliation agreements
– “The college’s affiliation agreements are not
specific regarding the primacy of the medical
school on issues of medical student education and
do not address the responsibility for treatment
and follow-up in case of student exposure to
infectious or environmental hazards and
occupational injury”
