BY MRS. LITHERLAND MY COLOR SCHEME ORANGE - Active 14% GREEN - Independent 20% BLUE - Interactive 28% GOLD - Structured 38% MY COLOR STRENGTHS GOLD – practical, sensible, dependable, conservative, organized, cooperative, caring. I keep organized by using Outlook on the computer and my phone. My house and car are older but dependable. Committee work and leadership positions are not strangers to me. My family and friends depend on me for comfort, ideas, and support. BLUE – harmonious, compassionate, empathetic, warm, authentic, unique. I can get along with anyone because I care about others and what they are experiencing. GREEN – curious, knowledgeable, theoretical, determined, philosophical, rational. I am very goal-oriented with a strong need to feel a sense of accomplishment each day. Determining what makes other people “tick” is fascinating to me. My rational and detailoriented side enjoys figuring out how to use technology to make my tasks easier. ORANGE – competitive, realistic, open-minded. I feel I am realistic most of the time and open-minded with others. And of course, coming in first is always a plus! MY GIFTS AND TALENTS GOLD – Administering policies and attention to detail are important when I help FCCLA members with their STAR Events. I organize and serve in activities as the FCCLA Advisor. Planning and organizing are also used when I make learning activities for my students or children in my family. BLUE – I counsel and guide students when they discuss their problems with me. Building rapport is important to me as I teach students. Working as a team is necessary with the other band members in my church praise band. GREEN – When someone has a problem, I like to diagnose the issue and analyze it until we get it solved. Those talents also come in handy as I use technology. ORANGE – I enjoy arranging flowers or jewelry I’ve made in an eye-catching way. When we buy new things that “require assembly”, I like reading the directions and putting them together. “I AM” POEM I I am I am practical, empathetic, analytical. I love music, jewelry, flowers. I enjoy teaching, using computers, reading. I hate bullies, cleaning house, being treated like I’m stupid. I wish that I could improvise more while playing the piano. But the Kansas Career Pipeline skills I scored well in were in the clusters of Law, Public Safety & Security, Architecture & Construction, and Transportation, Distribution & Logistics. These are very different from the True Colors Careers AND the Kansas Career Pipeline career clusters. Based upon these results, I plan to research what it takes to be a home economics teacher (now called a FACS teacher.) MY TIME MANAGEMENT GOLD – pay attention to details, plan ahead to be prepared, prefer to work on and finish one project at a time. It stresses me out when I have to deal with unexpected changes, do several things at once without having time to plan, disorganization and rule-breakers. BLUE – consider how others will be affected when I make decisions, fall behind as I take on other people’s problems, am easily over-committed. I have to be careful to not get overextended and say “no” more. MY TIME MANAGEMENT GREEN– see whole picture and individual parts, strategize completing tasks, want to make decisions on facts, but need time to review all the information. Rushing to meet someone else’s timeline and being forced to spend time on something that does not make sense to me can stress me out. ORANGE – often underestimate time requirements. I am annoyed by distractions, missed deadlines and lack of followthrough by others, and disorganization.
