MUSEO MILANO
CONCEPT
THE CITY OF
Milano 17/3/2015 - Versione 1.0 - Progetto a cura di Where Italia Srl
THE “MUSEO MILANO”
PROJECT
The Museo Milano project was
conceived by the Arco della Pace
Rotary Club with the aim of promoting
the best that Milan has to offer.
ITS ORIGIN
The idea of the project stemmed
from the observation that although
Milan boasts countless museums,
not one of them actually tells its
story in a logical sequence, from
its foundation to the present time,
thus highlighting the role that Milan
has played in the sphere of culture,
art, the construction of our Country
and technical-scientific-industrial
development.
A Museum that begins with a story,
skillfully illustrated to highlight:
● The historical events that took
place Milan which proved to be
significant for human progress.
● Milan’s art treasures.
● The technological inventions
or innovations accomplished
by the Milanese.
● People who made the city a
great site.

THE “MUSEO MILANO”
PROJECT
AIM AND ADVANTAGES
Tourism
Since the great majority of tourists
visiting Milan are either business
people or tourists in transit, the aim
of the project is to offer this audience
a showcase featuring Milan’s
treasures.
In short, not just a simple guidebook,
like the innumerable ones on offer,
but a scientific document serving as
a stimulus to find out more about
the real treasures of Milan, hidden in
its museums, its monuments and in
its history, with a clear indication of
where to go and what to see.
Humanitarian and educational
● To provide young people with a
tool that will allow them to become
more familiar with Milan’s history.
● To create a permanent centre of
cultural and scientific expression
devoted to the analysis and
updating of testimonies of the past
to rediscover one’s own talents
and, as a consequence, one’s own
role in the city, in the region, in the
Country and throughout the rest of
the world.

OPPORTUNITIES
OFFERED BY EXPO 2015.
SOME FIGURES
According to forecasts, 24.000,000
national and international tourists
are expected to visit Milan during
the six-month period dedicated to
Expo 2015.
It is estimated that, among
these, at least 70,000 will be
Rotarians hailing from national and
international clubs.
Expo 2015 is thus slated to bring
some 200,000 visitors to Milan
linked, either directly or indirectly to
Rotary (family, friends, etc.).
The desire to implement the first
steps of this complex program
targeted at promoting the best
of Milan stems from the need to
provide them with high-quality,
user-friendly tourist information, by
developing and giving them access
to the www.museomilano.it website
and the Museo Milano App.
