Classical Persian Dance Workshop
With Shahrzad Khorsandi
The focus of this course is on
expression using hand and wrist
motions, capturing the Persian
aesthetics in the body line, and
understanding Persian rhythmic
patterns. We will specifically
focus on the style of dance
popular in the Qajar period
(19th century). Some
movement nomenclature will be
presented in Farsi. Prerecorded classical Persian
music will be used in class.
