• the first specialised cooperative portal created
within the framework of national portal Croatian
Cultural Heritage
• developed from digitization projects in National
and University Library in Zagreb:

– Digitizaton of Old Croatian Journals
– Cooperative Portal of Digitized Croatian

MOTIVES
• Newspapers and journals are
endangered resources
(physical condition, brittle,
fragile paper …)
• Unique and valuable content
on history, culture, politics,
social life, etc.
• Holdings scattered in a
number of libraries
• Limited access for users,
general public
• Isolated digitization projects
