Parish Mission Statement
Our parish family seeks
to know God by active
participation in the Sacraments and spiritual
programs; to love God by the daily actions of our lives, to serve God by
reaching out and providing for the
spiritual and physical needs of our
brothers and sisters; and to make faithful disciples of all in our parish family.
LET US PRAY for those who have died during the
past week, especially for Rosemarie Leone and
Joseph Saunders from our parish. Let us also remember the men and women of our Armed Forces,
who gave their lives in defense of our country.
The Sanctuary Lamp will burn in memory
of Howie Long, Sr. from Saturday, July
26th through Friday, August 1st requested
by his wife.

SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
JULY 20, 2014
From the Deacon’s Desk:
A note from Fr. Wayne . . .
Many times people ask
me a similar question;
namely, What is Opus
Dei? The best answer is
that Opus Dei is part of
the Catholic Church. The
name is Latin for “Work
of God”. Opus Dei’s mission is to spread the Christian message that every person is called to holiness
and that every honest work can be sanctified. In
other words, Opus Dei shares a simple yet profound
message: We are called to be saints! You may ask:
“Is that really possible? Can I be a saint?” The short
answer is yes! You are called and you can become a
saint! Opus Dei offers support and guidance to help
all those who want, whether or not they are members, to aim at holiness in their ordinary lives, especially through their everyday work. People of all
kinds belong to Opus Dei: priests and lay people,
men and women, young and old, married and single,
of every occupation and social situation. Most members are married and have families – these are called
supernumeraries. Some members (numeraries and
associates) make a commitment to celibacy, and so
generally have more time and availability to dedicate
to the various activities promoted by Opus Dei.
Some celibate men are ordained as priests, who
make up roughly 2% of the membership. There are
currently about 85,000 members of Opus Dei worldwide.
Sacred Heart Eucharistic Society
Mark your calendar for
Friday, August 8th at 6:30 p.m.
HOLY HOUR for LIFE
with the ROSARY for LIFE
In recent weeks, the United
States Supreme Court has issued
two rulings favorable to the Gospel of Life; the first was the
Hobby Lobby decision – that no
longer requires Christian owned companies to offer
coverage for abortions. The second ending the 35
foot barrier between Pro-life Advocates and abortion
clinics – allowing a greater distribution of pro-life materials and counseling.
Our prayers are stilled needed! Please join us!
Immediately following the Holy Hour with the
Rosary, the Sacred Heart Eucharistic Society will
serve coffee and something sweet. Hope to see you
there.
Please join us Saturday morning after
the Mass at 8:00 a.m. for Eucharistic
Adoration. During Adoration, we pray
the Rosary, have confession, and spend
some time with the Lord.
An Evening Under the Stars
Forgive up to what point? by Francisco Ugarte
Please join us on Friday,
August 22nd at 7:00 p.m.
For a Cocktail ~ Lawn Party.
The all-embracing outreach
of forgiveness extends also
to those that are hardest to
forgive: those suffered by
the people we love most. In
these cases, our emotions
tell us that to forgive the
guilty party is to betray our affection for the victim.
But we must not let ourselves be led by emotion. We
must try to distinguish between our affection for the
beloved person and our forgiveness of the aggressor,
which rests upon different, compelling grounds. As
much as possible we will try to make love concrete by
seeking the good of both parties: the one who has suffered the offense, whom we love naturally, through
the help and affection that are due him or her; and
the one who has inflicted injury through corrective
action that will encourage him to repent and reform.

SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
JULY 20, 2014
XVI TEMPO ORDINARIO
Verbum Domini
Deo Gratias
L’INGRESSO
SALMO RESPONSORIALE
Rit: Com’è bello, Signor, stare insieme ed
amarci come ami Tu; qui c’è Dio, Alleluia!
Tu sei buono, Signore, e perdoni.
amarci come ami Tu; qui c’è Dio, Alleluia!
SECONDA LETTURA
amarci come ami Tu; qui c’è Dio, Alleluia!
amarci come ami Tu; qui c’è Dio, Alleluia!
Verbum Domini
Alleluia, alleluia.
GLORIA
Ti rendo lode, Padre,
Noi ti lodiamo, ti
benediciamo, ti adoriamo, ti glorifichiamo, ti
Signore,
Figlio unigenito, Gesù Cristo, Signore Dio, Agnello
Amen.
Alleluia.
VANGELO
Il Signore sia con tutti voi
Dal vangelo di Matteo
E con il tuo spirito.
Gloria a Te, O’ Signore.

COMMUNIONE
granaio”».
Verbum Domini
Noi crediamo in te, O Signor
Noi speriamo in te, O Signor
Noi amiamo te, O Signor
Tu ci ascolti, O Signor
Noi cerchiamo te, O Signor
Noi preghiamo te, O Signor
Noi cantiamo a te, O Signor
Tu ci ascolti, O Signor
Laus Tibi, Christe
CREDO
Credo in un solo Dio,
Padre onnipotente,
creatore del cielo e
della terra, di tutte le
cose visibili e
invisibili.
state create.
Amen
Sei con noi Signor, sei con noi
Nella gioia tu sei con noi
Nel dolore tu sei con noi
Tu per sempre sei con noi.
C’è chi prega, Signor, vieni a noi
C’è chi soffre, Signor, vieni a noi
C’è chi spera, Signor, vieni a noi
O Signore, vieni a noi.
FINALE
Rit: Com’è bello, Signor, stare insieme ed
amarci come ami Tu; qui c’è Dio, Alleluia!
amarci come ami Tu; qui c’è Dio, Alleluia!
V. L’Angelo del Signore portò l’annunzio a Maria;
R. Ed ella concepì per opera dello Spirito Santo.
Ave Maria . . .
V. Eccomi, sono la serva del Signore.
R. Si compia in me la tua parola.
Ave Maria . . .
V. E il Verbo si fece carne.
R. E venne ad abitare in mezzo a noi.
OFFERTORIO
Rit: Tu sole vivo per me sei Signore,
vita e calore diffondi nel cuor.
Ave Maria . . .
miei passi ti voglio, Signor. Rit.
Preghiamo:
richiami all sera con Te. Rit.
Sulla mia casa T’innalzi, mio sole, splendo
d’amore, di luce, per Te. Rit.
