WELCOME TO BRUSSELS Financial Services September 24th to 27th 2012 issue 3 This event is insured by : Dear Financial Services colleagues, It´s now almost one year go since we gathered in Madrid under the theme ”Build to Last”. Out of the feedback we understood that you all liked the idea of gathering the different disciplines at one place and have some structured cross-fertilization. This year we will even have half a day of common program so that we can share our messages with one big group and also organize the dialogue between all of you, the SFS management team and our guest speakers Jan Ytterberg and Henrik Henriksson from the Scania Executive Board. It further allows us to have a common dinner and party. Since we met last time we have developed in a world of high uncertainty, with great lack of visibility of what the future will hold. Even if it today looks as Scania Financial Services will have its best year ever in terms of EBIT, we have this “uncomfortable stomach feeling”. The economical environment with a sovereign debt crisis, severe risks within the Euro zone, crucial elections, and a sluggish GDP development in many emerging markets keeps us in a high state of alert. Nevertheless we continue developing our business in many areas : new portfolio systems, insurance programs, common financial processes, roll out of GCRM and FSDW, supporting the rest of Scania in creating the Solution Sales concept, … are just some of them. As a theme for this conference we had many good ideas in the group, but finally felt that the work of last year was not yet finished and also the concept not yet utilized to its full extent. Therefore we will continue “building to last !” during this conference. In line with Scania´s core values we will do this with respect for the individual, with a strong customer focus, quality in everything we do and with a mindset of continuous improvement. I wish you a good conference and a lot of fruitful exchange among colleagues. Much welcome from, Claes & the Management team Transport The airport is just 15 km from the hotel.
