Must be a member in good standing in Phi Theta Kappa 2. Fill out an officer application • May include an essay portion 3. Interview for position • Panel interview 4. Offered the position Expectations of Chapter Officers Attend Regular Meeting Help with Chapter’s Honor’s in Action Project Help with Chapter’s College Project Be an ambassador on your campus and in your community for Phi Theta Kappa Have Fun Running for Regional Office Fill out a Regional Officer Application Will include an essay portion as part of the application Attend the Spring Conference Deliver a speech on the Honor’s Study Topic Retake the oath to Phi Theta Kappa Expectations of Regional Officers Attend Regular Meeting Help with Regional Honor’s in Action Project Be an ambassador on your campus and in your community for Phi Theta Kappa Help in the planning of Regional events Attend Regional Events Travel to different chapters for various events Expectations of Regional Officers Have Fun Running for International Office • Fill out Candidate Packet • Essay questions, official transcript, obtain signatures from Advisors and College President, headshot. All completed Candidate Applications must be RECEIVED by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 • Caucus interview with Dr. Rod Risley • Travel to International Convention (Orlando, FL) to campaign • Prepare table top display, one information piece to hand out, have campaign team • Prepare a speech about the Honors Study Topic • If you make finalist, you will give this speech to the entire membership present Expectations of International Officers • • • • • Remain strictly at a Community College for your year in office Preside over Annual Convention and Honors Institute Submit goals for the society and your division to work on in your tenure Travel to regional conferences to give workshops and support Communication with the Regional Coordinators and Regional Teams in your division • Timely response to all email Expectations of International Officers • • • • • • Maintain at least a 3.5gpa during year Minimum of at least six (6) credits Remain an active member in your home chapter Serve as an ambassador for Phi Theta Kappa in all settings Abide by the Honor Code Prepare a 10 minute speech about the Honors Study Topic to give at regional events (needs to be well researched with academic sources) • Regular team meetings • Have fun!
