The Project
•
Sport England Inclusive Funding (Round 1 and 2)
of £618,000 which created the Sports for All in
Sussex project.
•
To deliver more Sports sessions to adults (16+)
with disabilities across Sussex.
•
Current Statistics show only 23.1% of people with
a learning disability are taking part in moderate
sport for up to 30 minutes a week in Sussex.

What will this partnership do?
This 3 year project will:
• Increase the number of people participating in physical activity
& sports through new and existing community clubs in East
Sussex.
• Recruit & train volunteers & coaches
• Deliver sports competitions to athletes
• Work in partnership with sports governing bodies & various
organisations to ensure the project has a sustainable future.

Where are we now?
To date we have achieved:
•
Completed first year of the Brighton and Hove and West Sussex project and
East Sussex started officially on July 7th.
•
554 people participating in physical activity
•
14,130 Visits to sessions in Year 1
•
3 Sport Specific volunteers. New coaches recruited & trained. BH City College
– partnership
East Sussex NOW!
• The County has been split into 3 areas;
• Peacehaven to Eastbourne costal strip – Delivered by Grace Eyre
• Wealden Area – Delivered by Grace Eyre and Freedom Leisure in
partnership with Wealden District Council
• Hasting and Rother – Delivered by Active Hastings and Active
Rother
• Following the projects current ethos working with existing Sports Clubs
to establish Disability specific or inclusive sessions.
• Develop a network of volunteers in association with Brighton University
• Support clubs with financing sessions, training, support and using
knowledge of Grace Eyre in supporting adults with disabilities.
