START-UP PROCEDURE
Machine: Prima Power EP2040
Robot: KUKA KR 120 Quantec 2 Series R3100-2
Process: Automated Sheet Metal Bending
Procedure
1. Switch ON the Prima Power EP2040 bending machine.
2. Switch ON the KUKA robot controller.
3. Verify that all machine doors are properly closed.
4. Check the machine status and press Reset if required.
5. Release and reset all Emergency Stop buttons on the machine and robot system.
6. Log in to the Prima Power interface.
7. Open Edit Program and select Punch & Die.
8. Select Manual Mode and press Start to move the Punch and Die to the Home Position.
9. After homing is completed, change the machine mode to Automatic and press Start.
10. Close the main machine door.
11. Ensure the robot cell safety fence is secure and the work area is clear of personnel.
12. Switch ON the compressed air supply and verify adequate air pressure.
13. Open Telus Software and Telus Robot Software from the robot controller display.
14. Select the required production program.
15. On the KUKA SmartPad, change the operating mode from External (EXT) to T1.
16. Hold the Deadman Switch and acknowledge/clear any active robot alarms.
17. Change the operating mode back to External (EXT).
18. Press Reset and verify that no active alarms are present.
19. Start the automatic cycle.
20. Observe the first cycle to confirm correct operation of the robot and bending machine.
Safety Note: Ensure no personnel are inside the robot cell before starting the automatic cycle. Never
enter the fenced robot area while the system is operating in Automatic/External mode.
