Superheroes vs. Villains: Substance Use & Personal Safety Assignment
Assignment
In this assignment, you will explore substance use and
personal safety using a creative Superheroes vs. Villains
theme. You will create one superhero who represents safe
and responsible choices, and one villain who represents
risky or unsafe choices. Both characters will be based on
the same scenario, showing how different decisions lead to
different outcomes.
Learning Focus
• Understand how substance use can affect personal safety
• Identify unsafe situations and risky choices
• Practice making safe, responsible decisions
Your Task
You will create an original piece on CANVA:
• One Superhero (safe choice)
• One Villain (unsafe choice)
Pick one of the five different scenarios (the scenarios are
provided on the second page) to create your superhero and
villain. Your work may be presented as a poster, comic
strip, or digital slide, with drawings of what your superhero
and villain would look like.
The Superhero (Good Scenario)
Your superhero must include:
• A hero name
• A minimum of 2 superpower related to safety or decisionmaking
• An explanation of how this choice protects personal
safety
The Villain (Unsafe Scenario)
Your villain must include:
• A villain name
• A minimum of 2 'power' related to risky behaviour
• A scenario showing an unsafe or risky choice
• An explanation of why this choice is dangerous and what
could happen
Reflection (Required)
Answer the following questions in full sentences:
• What would you do if you were in this situation in real
life?
