Confucianism, also known as
Ruism, is a tradition, way of life,
philosophy or even a way of
governing and creating a just
order in society. It originated
from the teachings of the
Chinese philosopher, Confucius.
While Confucius did believe in the Great Tao, there is no
God figure in Confucianism. The followers worship Kong
Fuzi, who is also known as Confucius, but Confucius
has never been considered a god by his adherents.
Therefore, though Confucianism has sometimes been
viewed as a religion, it is best described as a social and
philosophical movement, aimed at bettering society.

Confucianism rests upon the belief that
human beings are fundamentally good,
and teachable, improvable, and perfectible
through
personal
and
community
endeavours, such as self-cultivation and
self-creation. Confucian thought focuses
on the cultivation of virtue in a morally
organised world (that is one ensuring the
victory of right over wrong).
