1. Getting Written Reviews
Would you mind ending the contract and leaving an honest written review of your experience?
This would help me on Upwork a ton.
If you're new to the process, I went and found a guide for you just in case:
https://support.upwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000990228-End-a-Fixed-Price-Contract
I can also walk you through it myself. Let me know! I’ll leave you one too, which will help
freelancers choose who to work with and how your job ranks.

Would you mind closing the contract for now and leaving a written review? It tends to help me
rank up a fair bit on Upwork's search feature, which gives me access to a bunch of new jobs. I'll
happily work with you again anytime—you'd just have to send me a new offer and I'd accept the
contract.
Let me know if you have any questions :)

Hi X,
Could you do me a favor and be the one to end our contract together? It makes my profile a little
stronger, and Upwork usually likes it more when the client ends it as opposed to the freelancer
(since it implies our contract had a favorable outcome). It’ll prompt you for a review, too, and I’d
love to hear how you thought I did!
Let me know if you have any questions about the process, or need a hand.
2. Regular Followups
Hi X,
Hope spring is treating you well! Wanted to check in - can I still help you with this project?
I have a fair few clients on retainer now, so happy to work that way or on a per-word basis. Let
me know what you think
Thanks,
Nick

Hi X,
I know this is out of the blue, but just wanted to thank you for our work together last year. I used
one of our pieces in my portfolio & it won me a huge contract with Y.
How are things with Z? Hope the New Year has been treating you well so far.
Thanks,
- Nick
3. Scaling Service Fulfillment
Hi X,
Had a blast working with you on that last project. For our next, I’m thinking I can make X portion
even better and am currently looking for a Y consultant (lawyer, engineer, IT specialist, etc) to
help me with Z. Can I have them look over our work together before I submit the milestone?
Thanks,
Nick

I know you have a lot of X requests incoming next month. I’m going to be a little bit bottlenecked
with Y and want to make sure I can accommodate you.
To that end, my friend/cousin/fiance/colleague is a professional Y and I’m considering asking
them to look things over before I submit the next batch to you. They work with Z client
(preferably a big name) and I learned most of what I know from them. If this sounds reasonable
to you, could I get their input on the round due on X date?
Thanks,
Nick
