Although my professional journey began in the financial sector, my true passion has always
resided in information technology, specifically within the field of cybersecurity. Upon
graduating from high school, the technology sector in Mongolia was still in its nascent
stages. Due to the limited infrastructure at the time and following my parents’ practical
advice, I chose to pursue a degree in Financial Management. However, this risk-averse
decision eventually led me to discover the transformative power of financial management
and digital transformation.
After earning my degree in Finance Management, I began my career as a teller at the Trade
and Development Bank of Mongolia (TDB). Through dedication and performance, I was soon
promoted to Retail Segment Manager. During my tenure, I played a pivotal role in
spearheading a major digital transformation project. We successfully phased out the
traditional, in-person loan application process and implemented a streamlined digital
issuance system via the TDBOnline application. Throughout this project, I collaborated
closely with the IT department to ensure seamless software development and robust system
security. As a direct result of this initiative, the loan portfolio grew 3.5 times within a single
year. This achievement not only demonstrated how digital transformation drives exponential
growth but also reignited the passion for IT that I had set aside since high school.
The best part of this project was working with the IT security staff and developers. It made
me start learning about Cybersecurity Management on my own. I realized that if I combine
my banking experience with cybersecurity skills, I can do something really special in this
industry. Central Washington University is the perfect place for me because you focus on
practical learning, which is exactly what I need to become an expert in finance and tech.
