Sample Email Request for interview

Dear Professor Ditmeyer:
I am a Las Lomas High School senior currently enrolled in AP English Literature and Composition and I
must write a research paper that relates to the subject of English. My research question is as follows:
Does English Romantic poetry still have relevance today, and if so, what might it be? I read some of
William Wordsworth’s poetry in class this year, and realized I wanted to learn more about his poetry and
the other Romantic poets.
As a requirement for the paper, I must interview a professional who can assist me with my research.
You seem like the perfect person to interview based on your qualifications and background. I know you
must be very busy with your own professional and personal obligations, but I would welcome the
opportunity to speak with you by telephone, email, in-person, or via a video conference.
