DESIGNING ER DIAGRAMS USING CROW’s FOOT
NOTATION
Instructions:
For each of the following business rules, draw ER diagrams, which indicate the entities and
their attributes (you are required to assume attributes). Identify and label significant
relationships between pairs of entities using Crow’s Foot notation.
I.
The Karachite Corporation operates many factories in Karachi. Each factory is in each
district. Each district can be “home” to many Karachite Corporation’s factories. Each
factory employs many employees but each of these employees is employed by only one
factory. Each employee has a specific job in one of these factories.

In online shopping, a customer can add one and only product to the shopping cart at a
time and each shopping cart can be associated with one and only one customer. A
shopping cart can have many products and products can be found in many categories.

A hospital can have many doctors, while a doctor can have one and only one hospital.
Each doctor has a particular specialty. A patient can have many appointments to see
doctors. And doctors can also have many appointments to see patients.
