GENERATIVIT VS STAGNATION (40-65 YEARS)
Generativit simply means to create, produce or generate
new ideas, product or content. According to Erickson this
stage is mainly centered to middle aged adulthood of about
40-65 years. Individuals in this stage are expected to focus on
contribution to the society in aspects such as helping and
guiding the next generation, mentoring and taking pride to
accomplishment
On the other hand stagnation means state of not moving,
flowing and developing. And so individuals turn to
unproductive and lack of growth which can letter on make
them feel disconnected from the society and feel unable to
contribute meaningfully to their families
Their fire this stage is a stage of responsibility fulfillment
e.g. raising children, making Positive impact to the society,
mentoring and engaging in meaningful works in community
INTEGRITY VS DISPAIR (65 YEARS AND ABOVE)
On this stage Erickson has tried to classify individuals in the
shape of past experiences, choices, relationships and meaning
that a person has built throughout life .they are sometimes
known as the ones with wisdom,
It is the final stage whereby integrity means sense of
fulfillment and acceptance regarding one’s life the one with
integrity feels accomplishment and satisfactory and are the
ones with wisdom while. Despair is when individual looks
back and feels regret, disappointment or sense of unfulfilled
potential. They feel they have wasted their potential and failed
to archive their goals
