ASSIGNMENT 03: A LESSON PLAN FOR ACCOUNTING
This assignment will count towards your final mark.
Ensure that you answer each question according to the mark allocation indicated. All

1. Design a lesson plan for a LEARNER-CENTRED lesson for Grade 12 learners in
Accounting on the lesson topic, tangible/fixed assets, which is a topic prescribed
in the CAPS document.
Take careful note of the following context of your
hypothetical Grade 12 class with 20 learners: The school has full access to
resources such as laptops, projectors, the internet, tablets and textbooks. You will
therefore need to be creative in utilising a variety of these resources to teach your
learners.

HINT: LESSON PLAN ASSESSMENT RUBRIC. Use the following lesson plan
assessment rubric as a guide to compile the lesson. However, don’t simply redraw
this rubric or complete the one below; it serves only as a guideline to help you to
plan your lesson.

2. According to the CAPS document (2011:42), a project in each of the grades in the
FET band is mandatory. Only one project per annum is recommended per grade.
Design a project for your Grade 10 Accounting class on the topic of internal control,
as per the CAPS document.
HINT: Take note of the following specifications when designing a project:
• Give your learners the necessary guidance prior to commencement of the project
(e.g. what you want your learners to investigate regarding the given topic).
