The United States’ Involvement in Israel-Palestinian War.
The United states played an important role in supporting Israel’s military campaign in
Gaza, offering unconditional support that has worsened the situation and destabilized the
whole region. Musa al-Gharbi states that the Biden administration has refused to
conditions on military assistance, stating that “from the outset of the conflict, the Biden
administration dismissed the idea of making security assistance to Israel conditional on
the American client respecting international rules and norms.” This indicates that U.S.
policies have protected Israel from being penalized for its actions in Gaza, allowing it to
carry out operations with little concern to the dying of civilians. Moreover, al-Gharbi
explained how this continuous support weakened U.S. interests in the region, stating that
“American installations and forces have come under attack throughout the region as a
result of the US role in the conflict.” By refusing to reduce its aid, the U.S. has not
only strengthened Israel’s aggressive tactics but has also generated anti-American
sentiment and regional instability. Ultimately, al-Gharbi presents the United States as
participating in the destruction of Gaza, claiming that rather than using its power to cool
down the situation, it has made it worse.
