In my opinion, “In an Armenian woman's life, the needle, the ladle, and the pen are inseparable." quote shows how society sees Armenian women. Armenian women are expected to e at home and do housekeeping all day long. Armenian women are responsible for taking care of their kids, husband, and for making sure that all their needs at the house are satisfied. The wife of the household is responsible for the meal that’s why according to the quote ladle is inseparable in a Armenian woman’s life. Before families hardly afforded for clothes that’s why sometimes the mother of the family was sewing clothings for family members, moreover, they were fixing the worn out clothes with the help of a needle and thread. Thus, back in the old times, needle was considered to be inseparable part of Armenian woman’s life. Pen is considered to be inseparable part of Armenian woman’s life as in Armenian families being literate and educated is very important. Armenian families give so much importance to education and no matter of their financial status, they make sure that their kids get high education regardless of gender. Pen symbolizes wisdom of Armenian women. However, in my opinion lots of things have been changed during these years. The society and the way the society expects Armenian women to be has been changed. Nowadays, the stereotype that Armenian woman has to stay home and has to take care of housekeeping has been changed. Most of the women work and they don’t have enough time to make meal for everyday. Thus, the ladle is not an inseparable part of Armenian woman’s life anymore. Sometimes, either husband helps wife with housekeeping or the family dines outdoors. As time goes on, we will hardly see people who sew their clothes or fix their worn out clothes. Nowadays, most of the people afford for clothing. So needle has become a separable part of Armenian woman’s life. Pen has always been and it is still an inseparable part of our lives because Armenian families give so much significance to eduction.
