Good day students, I am Mr. Pineda your Subject Teacher for today. Our topic for this day is all about Fundamental Counting Problem. Okay class before we start our lesson, what is Fundamental Counting Principle? The fundamental counting principle is a rule used to count the total number of possible outcomes in a situation. Let me give you an Example Example #1 Problem: How many license plates with 3 letters and 4 digits can the Land Transportation Office (LTO) produce in one and a half year? Given: Letters (there are 26 letters in the alphabet A-Z) Digits (there are 0-9 possible digits, and it is equivalent to 10) Solution: Letters 26 x 26 x 26 = 17,576 Digits 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 10,000 17,576 + 10,000 = 27, 576 Answer: A total of 27,576 license plates with three letters and four digits can the LTO produced in 1 and half year. Thankyou for listening in our lesson and I hope you’ve learned something for today’s class.
