Propaganda POLITICAL DYNASTIES LWR-Group 10 | IN MIDTERM ELECTIONS 2025 The Philippines, a land of the independent people who had hidden potential, remains shackled by the heavy political dynasties. These chains, forged by a few families over generations, continue to bind us, preventing the nation from growing. The voices of millions of Filipino people are silenced by these rich individuals who assume power as if they own it as an inheritance, getting their interests to always prevail over the general well-being. Every election, we face the same names, as if power is inherited, not earned. This illusion of choice mocks our democracy, where the few rule and many are left with recycled promises. True freedom is denied when our votes merely sustain dynasties rather than offer real change. The midterm elections of 2025 mark the very critical time for the Filipino people. We are finally in a position whereby one will be able to break these chains and choose leaders who reflect the people, not their family name. The continued presence of political dynasties in the Philippines calls serious questions concerning the country's democratic system. The Dutertes and the Marcoses are examples wherein the present and past leaders of both families are not known for great leadership that our nation needs. This is the reason why, up to this day, the people always tend to criticize the unfamiliar faces and settle with whom they know, and one of the reasons preventing the country's opportunity to break free from the ineffective governance. They will continue voting for the popular names but showing poor performances instead of electing new leaders. The unwillingness to choose the new leaders eliminates the possibility of having a proper change in our nation. As midterm elections near for 2025, it is time to think about political dynasties and what that means. Like the Ilustrados of the 1880s and 1890s who led an alma reforma in the Philippines, this is a critical matter that needs to be revisited again. Political dynasties can concentrate power and stifle new voices. We must demand transparency and accountability from our leaders. Let's not vote for the same names again in this upcoming election. Look for candidates with new ideas and integrity. Let's have the Pajaganas | Reyes | Zhang balls to make a truly democratic political topography for the sake of our country and for the people. Now, it becomes our task to free ourselves to their grasp and reclaim the true meaning of democracy for which our heroes fought bravely in the past. Let us stand united against the entrenched powers. It is important for our people to recognize that leadership should be based on quality, not heritage, if we are to hope for a just and better society. Educate our communities, vote for leaders who rise not from bloodline but from the will to serve. Demand transparency and campaign finance reforms to level the playing field for new voices. The spirit of the Filipino is unbreakable. We have resisted foreign powers and fought for freedom. Now, we must break the chains of our own making. In 2025, let us vote for change, for a nation where every Filipino has an equal voice. Let us build a republic worthy of the blood that has been shed for it. 9
