
Step 1: Get QuickBooks Tools Hub

Close QuickBooks if it’s open.

Download the QuickBooks Tools Hub.

Save your file in an easily accessible place, such as your Desktop or Download folder.

If you already have the Tool Hub installed, you can check the version by navigating to
the Home tab and looking at the bottom.

Open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe file.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Install the Tool Hub.

Step 2: Use the File Doctor Tool in the Tool

 Go to the Tool Hub.
 Select "Company File Issues."

 Wait a few minutes for the tool to open. If it doesn’t start automatically, you can
search for it manually.
 When File Doctor opens, choose your company file. Click "Browse" to locate the
file.
 Select "Check your file and Network."
 Click "Continue" and enter your admin password.
 Click "Next."
 Check your workstations for errors.
Solution 2: Rename the (.ND) File
 Go to the folder where your company file is stored.
 Look for file names exactly to your company file. But, these files have (.ND) extensions.
 Right-click each of these files and choose "Rename."
 Add ".OLD" to the end.
 Save the changes.

 Solution 3: Turn off Multi-User Hosting Mode
 If QuickBooks is used on a network, it’s important that only one computer hosts the company
file. To disable multi-user hosting mode, follow these steps:
 Open QuickBooks.

 Locate the following option: "Stop Hosting Multi-User Access."
 Select it to turn off hosting mode.
 Repeat these steps on all computers except the primary host.
 After turning off hosting mode on all relevant computers, try opening the company file again.
