This week I learnt about Digital Marketing Communications Digital is a type of direct response marketing includes online social media and mobile marketing tools and allows markers to communicate directly with consumers at a reasonable cost. It is also becoming the most widely used approach in marketing communications. Marketers use several different tools to engage consumers like websites, search engine, marketing, display advertising, affiliate marketing and word-of-mouth marketing. Websites can serve different functions for businesses. e.g., transactions, promotions, and to provide company or product information. Social media is a form of online media that allows members to create their own network of friends and contacts to share comments, articles, opinions, videos, and images. Social media can be divided into five categories which are Communities used for sharing opinions and articles, review sites, gaming sites, and creation and discovery sites. Social media marketing involves coming reaching out to consumers online through social networks. They use this platform by hiring experts and social media managers to create brand pages to send out updates and offers the most common tools currently used by marketers in North America are Facebook, Twitter, YouTube Instagram, and LinkedIn As social media evolves there are many opinions regarding which metrics are the best metrics for measuring impact we have Awareness, Interest and Engagement, Trial and purchase and Loyalty and Advocacy. Mobile marketing is the set of practices that enable organizations to communicate and engage with audiences in an interactive manner through any mobile device or network. It uses variety tools including the mobile web, mobile apps, mobile advertising, and proximity marketing. Mobile marketing engages consumers using mobile websites, apps, advertising, and sales promotional tools. Digital marketing relates to my professional life because it teaches me how to build my personal brand as an Entrepreneur and improve my communication skills.
