Vocabulary:
Marble:
is a type of very hard rock which feels cold when you touch it and
which shines when it is cut and polished. Statues and parts of buildings are
sometimes made of marble.
Mosaics: A mosaic is a design which consists of small pieces of coloured
glass, pottery, or stone set in concrete or plaster.
Chandeliers:
A chandelier is a large, decorative frame which holds light
bulbs or candles and hangs from the ceiling.
Commuter:
A person who travels to work over
an appreciable distance, usually from the suburbs to the centre of a city.
Frequent: If something is frequent, it happens often.
Passenger: A passenger in a vehicle such as a bus, boat, or plane is a person
who is travelling in it, but who is not driving it or working on it.
Fare: A fare is the money that you pay for a journey that you make,
for example, in a bus, train, or taxi.
Congestion: If there is congestion in a place, the place is
extremely crowded and blocked with traffic or people.
Architecture: The art of planning, designing, and constructing buildings.
Reliable: People or things that are reliable can be trusted to work well or
to behave in the way that you want them to.

Punctual: If you are punctual, you do something or arrive somewhere at the
right time and are not late.
Locomotive: A large vehicle that pulls a railway train.
Reeds: Tall plants that grow in large groups in shallow water or on ground
that is always wet and soft. They have strong, hollow stems that can be used for
making things such as mats or baskets.
Ferry:
A boat that transports passengers and sometimes also vehicles,
usually across rivers or short stretches of sea.
Enable: Give you the opportunity to do it.
Elegant: If you describe a person or thing as elegant, you mean that they are
pleasing and graceful in appearance or style.
Efficiently: If something or someone is efficient, they are able to
do tasks successfully, without wasting time or energy.
Permeable: If a substance is permeable, something such as water
or gas can pass through it or soak into it.
Inhabitants: The inhabitants of a place are the people who live there.
Barriers: A fence or other obstacle that prevents movement or access.
Spectacular: Beautiful in a dramatic and eye-catching way.
Redirect: Direct (something) to a new or different place or purpose.
Inspiration: Someone or something that gives you ideas for doing
something.

Blight: A disease that damages and kills plants.
Stunned: very shocked or surprised.
